Walk in a manner

"Let us not burn out by the hustle. Let us grow in worship."
I wrote this out in an Instagram caption for a reel the other day and it settled in on me more. Then I stumbled across Ephesians 4:1-3 which reads,
"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace."
We are called to run the race, but for the majority of our lives, we are walking. Let us walk in the manner listed above. Too often in my life, I get DE-PLEA-TED from a ridiculous unhealthy hustle. Half the time that hustle never produces fruit. The heart behind it isn't worship, it's strife and self-pleasure.
This usually stems from a heart that isn't fully surrendered. Trust me, I'm still learning what that means. But the times in my life when I've slowed down and let go of that striving urge, oh how the Lord shows up.
It's not always this big glamourous show-up.
I'm reminded of 1 Kings 19, where it talks about the Lord not being in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but He is in the low whisper.
*I've been racking my brain for an earth, wind, and fire comment for all of that. Another time, gonna just listen to their music for a bit!*
The goal and heart behind this post is to encourage you to grow in worship this season. I really want to grow and lean into the heart of worship and prayer, letting it be my fallback habit for when times get chaotic or I find myself hustling out of strife versus calling.
Not a long post today but hopefully it encourages you to take a breath, lean into the Lord, and walk in the manner we're called to.
Love y'all.
